Meet Joan

Joan’s areas of practice include Probate, Wills and Trust, Collections, Immigration and Criminal. She has tried numerous criminal cases to the jury and has done several criminal appeals including that of a young man named Josiah Sutton, who was released from prison when it was found out that the DNA result from the Houston Crime lab used against him was faulty.

Memberships

Joan has had memberships with the following bar associations including the American Trial Lawyers Association, Young Lawyers Association, American Bar Association, Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association and the Texas State Bar College. Joan also belongs to a number of civic organizations including the African Women Alliance, Houston league of business and professional women and the Texas Women Empowerment Foundation.
Ministry and Volunteer Work

Joan is very active as a member of Humble First Assemble of God Church where she actively functions in the intercessory and evangelism ministries. She is also a commissioned minister of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. She preaches the gospel in various churches, meetings and conventions all over the world.
